60 Two Lane Blacktop November 1, 2025

Our building is about 50 years old. We have occupied it for almost half that time. In the beginning it was just the first two 40 foot bays. Then we added a 20 foot and a 60 foot bay. Recently we added the back 20 foot bay that we now use for Mike’s video studio and storage. Finally, a few months ago we took over the final 60 foot bay which will be our new painting area. We had quite a few lean years during the last 25 so we had to prioritize and delay maintenance and repairs. That included our parking lot. Once the tenants moved out, our next priority was the parking lot. It had three large potholes and did not drain well. This resulted in a mud hole at the low end which became overgrown. It wasn’t really noticeable because of all the junk the tenant stored outside. We hired a paving company and two weeks ago they came in and repaired the three potholes. They removed all of the asphalt in large areas and dug down about an additional four inches, brought in fresh fill, compacted it and then covered it with asphalt. Last week, they brought in a whole crew and a bunch of heavy equipment. It was like watching a well choreographed dance as each specialist performed there task and by the end of the day, we were marveling at our new parking lot.
