4-More Improvements July 1, 2023

This is our welding and staging area where we have probably made most of the improvements. Down the middle you can see our 7000 tables lined up for paint prep. They are mounted on rotisseries so that they can be repositioned during the painting process. Three of the rotisseries are at least 25 years old so Andrez rebuilt them with much more steel reinforcing so they are as good as new. He also built three new ones to double the number of table that he can work on at once. We are probably going to have to build three more real soon. We also use these in the first step of final assembly.

If you look up, you will see the all new LED high bay lights and what a difference it makes. The other shops had the metal halide or fluorescents that we have been replacing with the LEDs as they failed. This shop’s lighting was almost nonexistent so we put up all new lights at once.

Off to the right is our mezzanine. The top was a major rats nest with old parts and junk that have been stored there since we moved into that part of the building. Karl and I went through it and most of it went to the junk man. Now we use it for painting fixtures that are used less frequently. That includes three new fixtures for the 6000 door which can hold two doors at once. They replace the two old fixtures we had which could only hold one door at a time. The new fixtures also rotate for ease of access while the old fixture required you to remove and replace the door for better access, much more efficient. Under the mezzanine has also been cleared out for Mike’s video studio where he promises me he is going to start updating all of our training videos as well as add new videos for grinder maintenance and repair. There are some other improvements you can’t see in this photo and I will be talking about them in a later post.
