SIP Corporation Endorses IGCEMA Certificate Program

The IGCEMA is happy to announce SIP Corporation becomes the latest company to endorse the IGCEMA’s Certificate Program. Tampa, Florida based SIP Corporation manufactures the Simplex, Ideal, and Peerless lines of reel and bedknife grinders.

SIP President Mark Pilger stated, “I am thrilled that we were given the opportunity to endorse and support IGCEMA. In the years I have been in the industry, we have seen dramatic changes in technology. While technicians in other industries have become more specialized, the golf course technician is still expected to do it all. Education and certification of technicians will be essential for properly maintained and profitable golf courses and we will be glad to do our part.”

The IGCEMA Certificate Program consists of six competencies which test equipment technician's knowledge in hydraulics, electrical systems, drivelines, internal combustion engines, sprayers and cutting units. The IGCEMA has developed study guides to educate technicians before the online testing is administered via proctors located around the world and online. Once all six competencies are completed the IGCEMA provides those technicians with a plaque and certificate to congratulate them for their achievement.
